Troy Beane, Founder and CEO of Veteran Executive Leadership

Troy Beane is Founder and CEO of Veteran Executive Leadership (VXL). He founded VXL in 2022 to help business owners create their path to exit by building the systems to support growth and to help veteran leaders step into those real operating seats.

His entrepreneurial drive started early, with his first company starting as a high-school side hustle. It failed. In 1998 he joined the military looking for discipline, resources, and education. After 9/11 that path became the career. The enlisted ranks taught shared hardship. Command taught responsibility. Management by walking around. Mission First, People Always. As he progressed in rank, the more complex strategic work taught how to operate with dedicated experts under pressure in undefined and dynamic environments.

He is a service-disabled veteran. He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, and he retired as a Major from the Pennsylvania National Guard. He earned several awards: the Meritorious Service Medal, the Bronze Star, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

Before VXL, he was also minority owner and COO of an all-veteran management consulting firm. He previously helped a company through growth from $4M to $18M, from 20 to 100+ people, in 3 years.

He has worked on projects spanning the size and complexity spectrum, from process improvements for SMBs to large-scale, multi-year commercial infrastructure for Fortune 500s, to M&A.

In 2017 he earned a Master of Leadership Development from Penn State Great Valley. In 2024 he was recognized as one of Penn State Great Valley's Diamonds of the Decades, and in 2026 Great Valley asked him to deliver the commencement address.

In charity and community work, Troy has served on boards and committees to help veterans. Since 2023 he has led the Veterans Fellowship Program at The Union League of Philadelphia, a program that has helped hundreds of veterans navigate their transition to the civilian sector, elevate their careers, and advance their entrepreneurial endeavors.

He operates a portfolio of veteran-led companies including Siegman Forced Air Systems and Schaefer Mechanical Services.

Today he is focused on helping owners prepare for change through retained leadership search, growth consulting, and shared services.
